Erik Just look at some back posting in this forum and check out links given. [This message has been edited by AJR (edited 12-02-2003).] Ours are not posted as of yet, but I know there are some for the Tirion Castle project on the yahoo groups page, as well as some for the Thornwood castle project. A search will give you the direct links. feel free to email if I can be of further assistance, as we have done a great deal of research on the topic. Good Luck! Roger Greim www.castlemagic.com [This message has been edited by Roger Greim (edited 01-17-2004).]jtherlow I was just wondering if I could get a plan for a typical 1st floor of a castle. Not a specific castle, just an average one. In fact, if you know where to get plans for any other floors (basement, 2nd, 3rd, etc.) I'd like to know. Thank you! Erik Schmidt I'm afraid there is just no such thing as a typical castle. jtherlow ookay....in that case what rooms are on the 1st floor of a castle, and what rooms are on the other floors? AJR Look under the following websites for plenty of plans.
http://www.callycastles.plus.com/ http://www.castlesontheweb.com/members/wurdsmiff/contents.html http://www.castlewales.com/listings.html http://www.castleduncan.com/Forums/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?s=f980a4d5e240b1698716010e35d5c1d8;act=SC;c=15
(The last one is Orford Castle)Galla I am not sure as to if you are wanting them for your own design or if you are wanting to have one for research on a historical site. You may check with http://www.castlemagic.com/
I know they build specific castle plans, as well as customize to order, with a few to give you ideas on the site. Merlin Galla: If you link to such sites as castlemagic.com, please note that the plans there have not much to do with real medieval castles. If someone uses them for a project at school, he may have a bad surprise at the end... Roger Greim Yes, Merlin is correct!
Please do not use our castle plans for school projects. The plans at castlemagic.com are modern insulated stone castles designed for new residences in the United States.Panzara I'm doing a project that I need to create a floor plan for a castle also. I found the best pictures in books. good luck to you. Panzara If you go to www.castleduncan.com/Irishfloorplans.htm#green you can find floor plans for different Irish castles and get some good ideas about what one would genrally have. That's what i'm going to end up doing myself.
